Ghost of Christmas
Ghost of Christmas is a teaching series that weaves together the themes of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol with the hope of the Gospel. Each message explores how God meets us in our past, speaks into our present, and secures our future through the coming of Christ. Drawing from images like Jacob Marley’s chains—symbolizing the burdens we forge “link by link”—the series reveals how Jesus breaks the patterns that once held us. Through Isaiah’s promise of a coming Savior (Isaiah 9:6), we see Christmas as God’s assurance of a redeemed future. Through Peter’s reminder of our rescued past (1 Peter 1:18–24), we see Christmas as God stepping directly into our story. And through the name Emmanuel, we celebrate the God who is with us even now (Matthew 1:23). This series invites us to reflect on the whole arc of redemption: the past God has redeemed, the present He inhabits, and the future He secures—all through the gift of Jesus Christ.
